SK바이오팜은 26일 미국 바이오기업 바이오헤이븐으로부터 뇌전증 신약 후보물질 ‘오파칼림’과 후속 후보물질, 신약 발굴 플랫폼(기반 기술)의 독점 권리를 확보했다고 밝혔다. 계약 규모는 최대 7억9500만 달러(약 1조1000억원)다. 이 가운데 반환 의무가 없는 선급금이 4억 달러(약 5540억원)로 절반 이상이다. 개발·허가 단계에 따라 최대 3억9500만 달러(약 5470억원)의 기술료를 추가 지급한다. 오파칼림은 뇌 신경세포의 과도한 흥분을 억제해 발작을 조절하는 ‘먹는 뇌전증 치료제’ 후보물질이다. 기존 치료제로 발작이 충분히 조절되지 않는 성인 부분발작 환자를 대상으로 글로벌 임상 2·3상이 진행 중이다. ━ “게임의 규칙 달리 가져가겠다” 올해 말 첫 주요 임상 결과를 확보하고, 2028년 두 번째 임상 결과를 거쳐 이르면 2029년 미국 시장에 제품을 출시할 계획이다. 자체 개발한 뇌전증 신약 ‘세노바메이트(미국 제품명 엑스코프리)’로 구축한 150명 이상의 미국 영업조직을 활용해 두 번째 신약도 직접 판매한다. 오파칼림은 엑스코프리와 같은 뇌전증 치료제지만 SK바이오팜은 두 제품이 경쟁하기보다 보완할 것으로 봤다. 엑스코프리는 주로 뇌전증 전문의가 처방한다. 이와 달리 오파칼림은 임상에서 부작용이 상대적으로 적게 나타나 일반 신경과 의사까지 처방 대상을 넓힐 수 있다는 게 회사 측 판단이다. 이동훈 SK바이오팜 사장은 이날 기자간담회에서 자금 여력에 대해 “현금 압박은 없다”며 “추가 도입이나 인수 가능성도 완전히 열려 있다”고 말했다. 이어 “이제는 글로벌 제약사로 가는 다른 리그에 왔다. 게임의 규칙을 달리 가져가고 싶다”고 했다. 엑스코프리 한 제품을 넘어 여러 신약을 미국에서 직접 판매하는 글로벌 바이오 기업으로 도약하겠다는 의미다. ━ K바이오, 기술수출 규모도 질도 달라졌다                    정근영 디자이너 국내 제약·바이오 기업의 신약 기술수출도 잇따르고 있다. 한국제약바이오협회에 따르면 올해 기술수출은 12건으로, 계약 규모가 공개된 9건의 총액은 15조9000억원대다. 조 단위 계약만 4건이다. 한미약품은 최근 비만 신약 후보물질 ‘HM17321’을 글로벌 제약사 로슈의 자회사 제넨텍에 최대 23억500만 달러(약 3조2000억원)에 기술수출했다. 양뿐 아니라 질도 개선되고 있다는 평가다. 과거엔 전임상 단계의 초기 기술을 이전하는 사례가 많았다면, 최근에는 임상에서 어느 정도 검증된 신약 후보물질과 플랫폼 기술의 수출이 늘면서 선급금 등 계약 조건도 유리해지는 추세다. 이현우 한국제약바이오협회 글로벌본부 상무는 “2020년 이후 기술수출 규모와 기업 저변이 지속적으로 확대하고 있다”며 “국내 제약·바이오 산업이 내수 중심에서 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 산업으로 성장하고 있다는 중요한 증거”라고 말했다.。    Europhile Conservative MPs have poor prospects in the race already underway to replace Prime Minister Boris Johnson, according to a British academic.,With BoJo making a slow-motion exit from Downing Street, ministers and backbenchers alike are throwing their hats into the ring for the dual role of party leader and PM.,Johnson announced his resignation as Tory leader on Thursday — pre-empting mooted moves to cut the 'grace period' following an unsuccessful no-confidence vote, which he narrowly survived in June.
